What’s new and coming down the creative pipeline here @ Jacobson native art in 2025

Good morning to everyone and once again it’s a privilege to share with you all some new and exciting events taking shape for us here @ Jacobson native art. Ever since I first came out here it was my destiny to build our home and family out here. I scouted out this place the Kootenay’s and absolutely fell in love with the vibe. The potential I saw back then was a total breath of fresh air. I had been living in Vancouver for nearly 15 years straight before my visit in 2015. I knew then that the whole reasoning about coming here was for me to build this next chapter in my life. My son was born in Nelson so that officially makes him a kootenay boy. We love it out here and find daily inspiration. The magnitude and power of nature spirit is  transformational on so many levels. With only a small sprinkle of human beings it’s the perfect setting for family growth and creative energy. Way less distractions and crazy people that you’ll find in every city.

Big changes no doubt and life moves at a gentle and genuine pace. The relationships that we’ve been able to build here have been pretty awesome. I bring a totally new creative energy that many here have never seen. It’s like a fresh start to something I’ve been mastering for 40 years now as an artist. To carve out a new voice and spirit here in the Kootenay’s has been really refreshing. I’m done with city life. Chasing those stupid carrots out there trying to be a something. You just realize that by being here, those things aren’t that important. In fact out here? They don’t mean anything. None of that will save you from a grizzly attack, or being mauled by a cougar. Or being in the crosshairs of an avalanche. Nature kind of strips all the colonial bullshit away. It’s a beautiful thing to be freed from those desires. From those kinda wants.

Things are moving along at a wonderful pace for me and my heart and spirit are joyful being here and having great people around me who want to create together for the benefit of all parties involved. The levels of honesty and transparency with these relationships is amazing. All my partners know exactly what’s up in my world. No secrets and no hiding. I think that’s why we work so well together. From my relationship with Kunze gallery and my incredible partnership with Little giant productions, we all have a solid foundation with one another. No bullshit or weirdness getting in the way. It’s solid gold energy.

So indeed I’m feeling really happy about this new and exciting energy and we’ve got some more news to share. As many of you know I did a partnership with Sea gods paddle boards out in White rock, BC. It’s been a phenomenal success and we just closed a new deal with them for 2 more designs for 2025 and 2026. I’m feeling inspired and overjoyed as I try to make decisions about my work regarding how I can place it into people’s hands, into situations of them becoming more intimate and involved with my art. The ability to play in water and go out and experience a beautiful adventure with these boards is super dope energy. The boards are all limited editions as well so it’s not mass produced. Looking forward to sharing more of that with Sea gods.

My fabric lines with northcottt fabrics are doing awesome and I’m getting to see so much creativity being produced out there it’s extraordinary and satisfying. From quilts, to clothing to wall hangings and footwear, it’s been a fascinating journey and the work being done by Quilts for survivors is phenomenal. I feel so privileged and honoured to be able to comfort residential school survivors through this initiative. Definitely one of the greatest highlights of my artistic career. Real meaningful work. The artistic journey is a deeply profound experience with many ups and downs but if you truly believe in yourself and what you do? It’s worth it. Even though the battles may be difficult and tragic sometimes we must continue to persevere and find our way through. Being an artist is like having a backstage pass to how it all works. Life itself is creative and it is in my opinion the original language.

THE FUTURE IS HERE. THE FUTURE IS WOODLAND A.I.
Woodland A.I. has been such a welcome new discovery for me and has no doubt given me new life, especially after all the fucked up darkness permeating throughout the current vibes of the woodland school of art. This new invention of mine not only inspires me deeply but bridges the gap between the past, present and future like no other creative process I’ve ever discovered. It’s incredible to be on the cutting edge of creative energy and power with this technology. I have definitely found my new voice with this art form and this new chapter will be my most important regarding my creative legacy. To be the first ever to do this feels pretty neat as well and most definitely separates me and defines me in my own light. I feel good about that. Woodland A.I. is definitely JACOBSON.

I’ve got 11 new image prompts being prepared for me and I can’t wait to finally get them this weekend. My business partner in Luc @little giant productions is a big part of getting the images prepped so that I can infuse them onto canvases. From there I prep them with colour backgrounds,  design layouts and final paint applications. Coming up with indigenous art the world has never seen, that we only dreamed of doing. I mean, that’s how I truly feel about it. I see A.I. like my creative apprentice, it takes care of so much for me. It never whines or complains. It does what I tell it to do. And it usually gets it right better than I expected. It’s a brilliant edition to my creative process. So on that note we’ve got some exciting new things coming into manifestation and I look forward to sharing more as we continue to move forward. I’m grateful and thankful for all these wonderful new opportunities and creative paths. Life out here in the Kootenay mountains has been one of the greatest decisions of my entire life. I absolutely love it here.

Sharing the amazing success of my second fabric line called: Sacred earth with Northcott fabrics and Jacobson native art

 Northcott designer profilehttps://northcott.com/designers-detail.aspx?di=538

Good evening to each and everyone and once again it’s super cool to share the beautiful medicine and creativity being manifested throughout North America with this unique collaboration with Northcott fabrics and yours truly here @ Jacobson native art.

We’ve been so inspired by the various movements taking shape through this collection and this partnership throughout the world of quilting and fabric design. I’ve been absolutely blown away with the various creations coming from thousands of souls nationwide. It’s an exciting experience for me and for the countless others in whom are working with these fabrics. Sacred earth continues to impress and it’s a beautiful second edition to my first line in Healing waters.

Our family has received some amazing quilts and other work that was shipped to us here in the Kootenay mountains from all over Turtle Island and it’s such a cool feeling to be apart of. Lots of people are thankful and express their appreciation and contact me through email and Facebook to connect. The above quilt was made for me and it’s just a deadly piece As blankets are highly regarded amongst us First Nations and continue to represent that sacredness of warmth and comfort, it’s such an honour. I sleep with that as it fits my king size perfectly. Keeps me nice and warm and it feels awesome to be wrapped up in something made with such love and care.
Just feeling very happy with everything these days and the warmth and love being shared is simply profound. Who would’ve thought eh? The world of quilters is such an amazing and newly tapped source of incredible creativity and energy. I love them and appreciate them so much so, Miigwetch to each of them. With that I am honoured to continue bringing you all new experiences in the realms of indigenous art and culture. Stay tuned as we have some super great news to release and share with all of you here. All my relations, Rainbow Thunderbird - MAJ πŸŒˆπŸ¦…πŸŒˆ

Under the umbrella of truth and reconciliation, this current exhibition @ Royal Ontario Museum and Jacobson native art steps forward...

Good evening. Blessings moving forward and wishing wellness and healing to each and everyone. Thank you for all the kindness and support and here’s to better things ahead. Indeed this exhibition is about just that, moving forward. We must continue to find new paths and open new doors towards one another. This process of truth and reconciliation hasn’t been an easy one.

This project is about pushing forward with healing energy and power. Here in the 21st century we must continue finding new ways of creating space and dialogue in honour of the healing, the awareness and wisdom of reconciling our history. So that today can be a better place for our people. To learn to live in harmony together for the future. It starts with every single one of us. Any how, thanks for simply just understanding. We heal together. For the future...

All my relations and I’ll leave you with a quote from FB:

I didn’t even want to do this exhibition because of my awareness regarding genocide to us Indians from the hands of Canada and many of their institutions.

Finally I thought about the residential school children and thought to myself with them in prayer:

The art and our culture is the bridge to healing these wounds.

Let this be a channel through truth and reconciliation to help bridge the gap.

It’s the main reason why I did the line in the first place. Not only did I want indigenous peoples working with my designs but I and the souls of the children envisioned white old ladies and immigrants from all over the world who call our land home, working together. Creating “good medicine”.

Thus the line is called: Healing waters. πŸŒˆπŸ¦…πŸŒˆ

Proud to announce: Worldwide campaign “Honouring the residential school children” with Northcott fabrics & Jacobson native art

Good day to each and everyone. It is with great pride and love that I am truly honoured to announce my new Official worldwide campaign with Northcott fabrics and Jacobson native art. This new partnership and collaboration with regard to “Honouring the residential school children“ will be an initiative formed in the spirit of truth and reconciliation. We are releasing the collection: HEALING WATERS from 2022 to 2024.

This initiative is centred in love and healing for all the families and children effected by the residential schools tragedy. The whole reason for this release is to help find a way for First Nations, Canadians, Americans and those around the world to contribute to the solution of healing and well being for all involved.

This campaign with the release of this collection “Healing waters” is specifically designed for quilters around the world. This is an opportunity for all of us to collaborate and work together. My goal is to see these chosen quilts to be offered to the families directly effected by these on going tragedies.

We all have a role to share in the healing of the cultural fabric of this country. This campaign is designed to help bring us together. There was a time not so long ago during first contact between us First Nations and settlers where the “gifting of blankets” came from a place of love, care, warmth and comfort.

Let us come together through the actions of these principles and share our gifts with those in need. Each selected quilt will be offered to a First Nations family directly effected. These quilts will obviously be donated to this cause. Your family name and created quilt will have an opportunity to be a part of this legacy.

You will be remembered with respect and honour for sharing your love with such a deep and transformative cause. We can find the answers. We can work together and heal. It is our birthright to appreciate one another and to find meaningful ways of widening the circle between us. All of us. We all have something to bring to the table of brotherhood, sisterhood. We are the human family.

More information will be presented over the next coming weeks. Please stay tuned to us here at: Jacobson native art. We’ll be working with Northcott on where to send the completed quilts for distribution in the next few weeks. We thank you with all of our hearts for wanting to participate and be a part of the solution.

We each have a unique and special part to play in each others lives. Let’s see how far we can reach into one another and share the transformation and power of “HEALING WATERS”. Here is a link to my profile at Northcott fabrics. It will also be a source of staying current with this campaign.

We are the solution we each have been searching for. The time for healing is now. We honour the past by learning from it, by making it better today. I truly and sincerely want to thank you all for sharing and participating in this opportunity. Together we can make the change we wanna see in our world. All my relations, MAJ
