Blessings to each and everyone. Sadly we lost one of the best souls I ever had the honour to meet. A friend  of mine for over 25 years, a genuine and loving brother who shared his experience, strength and hope with me on a regular basis. Known him for over half my life. 

A peyote man, road man, sun dancer, sweatlodge chief and a father, grandfather and friend to tens of thousands. He was the first one to introduce me to the medicine “Ogima Mushgigi”. I’ve had the honour and privilege to sponsor several “meetings” and hold dear to my heart and soul, the spiritual powers of grandfather peyote.

Thank you my brother for all the love, lessons and shared teachings and vision. You will be greatly missed but I will forever remember you and think on you, often. Every time I give the grandfathers in the sweatlodge a drink of water, I’ll think of you. Our heart and soul is beginning to heal now around the trauma of recovering our residential school children...

 

It sure has been a very challenging and difficult journey over these last 14 months going through this deep and dark trauma of discovering all these murdered children across our stolen lands...known as colonial Canada. Many of these children are still yet to be discovered. This has been a challenging time processing all of this. I feel as though I am beginning to come to terms with this horrific reality. The emotional scaring has been so difficult to examine and feel. In honour of these beautiful children I had to go through it to truly understand my relationship to this. What it means to me as an Anishanabe, a 60’s scoop survivor, a direct descendent of the horror of residential schools.  

In the second photo above is a ceremonial letting go and turning my back on anything and everything, Christian. I took all of these items and references out of my home 5 years ago, said a prayer to the CREATOR and dropped down a tobacco offering. It was done as part of my spiritual journey to decolonize. This act symbolizes my cutting these ties permanently and completely surrendering to my Indianess, my sovereignty as an Anishanabe soul here on our land, my land. I’ve also made the commitment 5 years ago as well to never step inside a church ever again. Never. I’m absolutely and 100% done. The roots must be completely severed from the abuser in order to completely surrender to the healing and move on. That is my experience. 

And so it is and so it will be, focusing on the new path forward. Believing in the future of my people, our healing and wellness being the seat of the soul so to speak. Trying to be an example of the power rather than a power of example. Creator spirit is this light I am speaking to. Although this year has been a really challenging one for so many effected by these tragedies we will continue to heal and find new and meaningful ways to come together and work as a family should, the human family. We all can benefit from learning how to be more loving towards one another. In honour of the souls of these children I will continue to try and be a better me each and every day. Congratulations to Rafael Nadal on 14 French open titles and for a total of 22 grand slam championships here @ Jacobson native art

Good evening and thank you for all the good vibes and energy over these last few months. The journey has been a grind in the arena of life but we find our way through by being persistent, motivated, dedicated and willing to do whatever it takes to get to the other side. For those of you who don’t know, I’m a huge tennis fan and absolutely love the game. 

I’ve been watching and playing it for years. I have learned a great deal from many of these athletes who play the game. I watch many of the interviews from both the winners and losers of these intense physical matches and different strategies. I’ve been a fan of Rafa since he burst on to the scene in 2005. He’s my favourite player of all time and it’s a privilege watching this guy compete. Ive learned a lot through the years and I am so impressed with what Rafa has achieved in the open era. 

So, with that, a special congratulations to Rafael Nadal for being the all time leader with 22 grand slam championships and for out pacing both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic (currently tied at 20 slams each) and doing what will probably never be achieved again at Roland Garros in Paris, France....14 titles alone in one of four grand slam events throughout the yearly tennis season. Absolutely incredible....VAMOS RAFA!

Good afternoon to each and everyone. Last week was another pivotal move forward regarding the ufo uap phenomenon. I have been a believer for quite a while now and over the last 30 plus years I’ve experienced numerous encounters with strange moving lights, orbs dancing across the skies. I have had several different witnesses see them with me and have confirmed through these experiences that this phenomenon is legit. It’s real.

What it all means I certainly dont know, but the fact that mainstream media, the governments of the world are now getting on board with disclosure is a huge awakening, globally. They’re here. History has recorded this reality as well. Us First Nations have known about these relatives from star nation for millenniums. We are definitely in one of the most interesting times of unfoldment for our planet.

Ever since the discovery and release of those ufo videos by the New York Times in 2017, this reality has greatly shifted. This has always been one of my dreams coming true regarding this disclosure. I’ve wanted this since I was a young boy seeing my first ufo around the age of 6. From there I’ve been hooked on this subject matter ever since. 

Any how enjoy this video as it gives more Information into this new awakened reality. The fact that the U.S government is confirming that this technology is a major leap forward that we haven’t seen anything like this is transformational. It excites me like no other earthly or cosmic discovery. Good morning to each and everyone. Just had an amazing day taking my boy out for his first full atv experience deep in the mountains. With spring time opening up more of the trails it was time to take him on this incredible ride. We travelled about 50km on these beautiful and stunning trails together and he was in absolute Mother Nature paradise today. He was beaming with joy and totally enjoyed every single minute of it.

Here is my boy having a “Anishanabe zen moment” as he takes it all in having had the journey of his life going to places most people only see in their dreams or on postcards. For me, there is nothing greater than having the opportunity each and every day to hang out with this amazing and dazzling light. He truly is my everything. My dream come true. That’s what I tell him every single day. Being with him at this stage of my life is really the icing on the cake. I now know what selfless true love is. It’s being a caring and responsible father to your child each and every day. Nothing in this world can ever replace that. Nothing should ever get in the way of this. 

Ever since his birth I’ve been on this absolutely most incredible journey of discovery. As I’ve mentioned I have never met any soul in my entire life who has impacted such change in my life, in who I am. My little teacher, the one who moved mountains in dadda. What can I say but that I’m eternally grateful for your existence, your precious soul and life. 

My beautiful boy, my hope in a future where true love will continue to reign through our Jacobson name for many future generations to come. This is my ultimate wish, to be the father I never had and to continue our incredible and awesome journey together as father and son.

Good evening to each and everyone and I wanted to send out a heartfelt thank you for all the love, kindness and support these days. I appreciate it very much and through this site and my Facebook native arts group the response has been incredibly warm and supportive. So chi-meegwetch for that. Lately I’ve been re-examining my marketing approach and have opened up some new doors as the direct result. 

Because of ebay, most auction websites, Kijiji, Walmart, the Hudson’s Bay and the like are peppered with fake Morrisseau’s and poor quality reproductions, fake prints of fake paintings it is quite overwhelming the amount of garbage that is out there. Not only is that the fault of barbarians like jim white publishing and the filth surrounded around the Morrisseau family foundation, Kinsmen Robinson gallery and the negligence of the Norval Morrisseau estate, many others have gotten involved with selling this cheap shit to the average consumer. 

It’s embarrassing that this fraud continues to multiply, the lies and deceptions are hurting consumers while everyone waits for some results regarding this national police investigation being headed by the OPP. The amount of loss that many First Nations artists have suffered because we are forced to compete in this market is atrocious. Gross negligence by Canada in every way you can think of. I’ve watched it all go down for the last 2 decades. It’s pathetic and depressing. 

So, here at Jacobson native art, we are moving in some fresh and new directions. We have decided to work with a couple different platforms where our quality can be appreciated and where we don’t have to contend with fake prints of Norval Morrisseau on eBay for $39.99. What a joke. More over it’s absolutely disgusting really. Most days I’m just getting pretty sick and tired of anything Morrisseau. The toll of dealing with this art fraud for over 17 years now has become quite numbing. 

The amount of garbage out there is staggering so getting proactive about our new direction has put in some fresh hope and courage concerning what I offer and bring to the table. Unlike Morrisseau, my level and quality matters a great deal to me. Not only with my originals but also with the quality of my prints and publishing decisions. 

We have chosen to go with poshmark and Etsy with regard to providing a playful and fun platform for those seeking limited editions on stretched gallery canvas. All prints come signed, titled and numbered and are directly sourced from my art studio. Everything released from the studio is released to the public in mint condition. Flawless. Perfect. We only choose the highest quality and best products to represent Mark Anthony Jacobson native art.

 

I feel very excited and happy about protecting the integrity of my art and legacy. After everything I have learned around Morrisseau it is imperative that a successful artist does everything they can while they are alive to steer this ship in the right direction. I have also decided to enter the world of NFT’s and I’m thankful to my friend, collector and new brother Chad in Toronto for encouraging me to enter this new realm. I don't know much about this digital world but I’m willing to dip my toe in the waters to find out what this potentially may lead to. I am interested to scope out these new worlds online.

Sold some paintings and bought some toys @ Jacobson native art

 Good evening to each and everyone. We just got back from a trip to Cranbrook B.C. and went shopping for our monthly supplies etc. Like I’ve mentioned before I live in a very small community deep in the Kootenay mountains on the east shore of kootenay lake. The views and scenery are absolutely majestic. Any how we did our shopping and we ventured off to the toy store. 

When my boy Sagein saw these, his eyes lit up with joy and excitement. When I saw them I thought to myself, if I was 4 years old would I want these? You betcha. So I did what any cool father would do and made the purchase. Lol. This robot Batman lights up, talks, is quite interactive along with that cool looking batcar. He loved em. It took us 3 hours to get back home and my boy fell asleep on the drive home. But when he woke up this morning?

He was the happiest boy on earth. And that for me, is the essence of my happiness, my joy. The truth be told, my childhood was a pretty ruff deal. I see the path every day with this little one. My love and complete admiration for him. His love, trust and confidence in me, the best feelings ever. He is the center of my universe. I don't want to be anywhere else on earth except right there beside him every single day. 

I know the road map of what I had to endure and survive as a child and this lil guy is my only child. He is the CEO of Jacobson native art. He will be handed the responsibility of taking care of this for future generations. Everything I do is truly about taking care of his wellbeing each and everyday. I want the best for him. He deserves it. He has shaped and changed me like no other human being ever in my life, could. He is that unique and special to me.

Just finished these paintings today @ Jacobson native art

 Good evening to each and everyone. I spent the entire night finishing off these paintings for a client in Montreal. They took me some time as it’s been a very challenging journey navigating this on going genocide of my people, the great Anishanabe. I have spent a significant amount of time deep in the spirit world and deep in Mother Nature spirit seeking council and healing. 

These paintings are the result of putting some things into their proper perspective. I have titled these: Guardian spirits of the family clan. Their size is 24 x 36 inches, each canvas. They are a reflection of these spirits coming in to help me, to comfort me. I am grateful for the spiritual energy and connections I have to these realities.

After coming back from these experiences (being on the planes of inspiration) I usually come back down to earth through some prayer and meditation along with the beauty and power of music. Enjoy this track because this sounds how it feels to come back from the spirit world when creating...

Dealing with fraud and copyright violations of my work @ Jacobson native art

Good afternoon to each and everyone. These are indeed very difficult and challenging times that we are in.  With the discovery and recovery of our residential school children, this genocide of my people, the war with Russia and Ukraine, global warming, the pandemic, the list just goes on and on. These challenges effect us all in more ways than one. Yet the fight for truth must continue.

For years now I’ve been doing whatever I can to assist in fighting this fraud of our art. It started with standing up for the legacy of my friend in Norval Morrisseau. That has been a 17 year fight so far. Now my work is being stolen and taken advantage of by these criminals and not just here in Canada but worldwide. 

It has been a refreshing energy to have actual help and assistance with regard to these matters. The police are fucking useless and have offered absolutely zero help. In this day and age you have to hand them the case on a silver platter like I did with Morrisseau where you have done most of the work, being unpaid and using your own resources to even get them to help or assist. Even in that, they have provided me with no assistance.

So, I’m stuck either doing it myself or finding those who actually care enough to help. I belong to a group called “Fraudulent native art exposed”. It is a small team of dedicated and trusted souls who do work as I’ve listed above. I’m a part of this group. I continue to not only help defend my own interests and authenticity but indeed I’m still helping dozens of other native artists...including still, the art of Norval Morrisseau. 

This article is an overview of how to go about protecting your own art and copyrights. You have to become your own law and justice. Relying on others to get the job done will not suffice. One must take the lead themselves. You have to take action. I hope this piece of advice becomes useful to those who are suffering with these issues. It’s become quite a problem for many native artists across this god forsaken country called Canada.

Good evening to each and everyone. Just a beautiful day and feeling like I’m making more sense out of this crazy and hostile world we all live in. I’m back in the studio making time for what I do best, my art. The fight has been real, honest and pure. I’ve had to take my time through this and put these pieces together regarding this living genocide and truth of discoveries concerning our residential school children. 

I’m simply happy today to be back painting. I have dozens and dozens of pieces on the go. It’s time to refocus myself and plan my next course of actions as I sit in the spiritual world channeling these images and stories putting them down on to the canvases. Maintaining some peace and serenity in this crazy and fucked up world we all live in

Truth be told, we have been very blessed for the most part since we left Vancouver in 2017 and moved out here to the Kootenay mountains. The timing of the birth of our son in Sagein which happened in Nelson BC on December the first, and making our rounds throughout the Kootenays has been a deeply fulfilling experience so far. Most people that we have met have been courteous, friendly, understanding and respectful. 

We have experienced some racism, discrimination and ugly bullies who have tried to flex their shit on us but we beat that vibe inside and out by praying and petitioning the great powers of the Universe on their behalf and on behalf of their entire family bloodlines. I call these types of prayers and requests “unfuckable”. Because they bring you immediate spiritual armour from their madness and other associated ‘spiritual sicknesses” that they don’t even know they carry and have.

It’s why I wear medicine and crystals and precious stones etc. Because these things protect me from getting hit. It’s an old Indian trick passed down from those super smart grandma’s and grandfathers in the spirit world. The ancestors. Look, I’m already a pretty fuckin wild cat as they say. Being out here in nature spirit like this each and every day for more than 5 years now has truly answered so many questions. I live in a very small community of 300 souls out here on the east shore of Kootenay lake. 

We are tucked away deep in these mountains. Quietly hidden from the rest of humanity while the entire world tries to recover from the Covid pandemic. We are super fortunate in this regard as well. We have become masters of self isolation and social distancing by Mother Nature’s very existence out here each and every day. All those who live here are pretty much on the same beam of light in this regard as well. It’s the one thing we all have in common living out here. That somewhere within us all out here, we can connect, learn and grow in the knowledge that we are all children of Mother Earth.

Blessings to all my relations who are brave and strong enough to wake up to these facts of our genocide as First Nations people here on our land. The tragedy is absolutely horrifying and unbearable to feel and understand on so many levels. The unyielding madness of this genocidal operation in Canada and the force and control being exercised upon us is absolutely fucking pathetic. Killing our children and building your dreams on the backs of these murdered children is beyond gross, beyond any sense of humanity.

Yet the denial of these truths continues on in how this thing called Canada all came to be. It’s so fucked. What’s even more fucked is how white Canadian settlers think that this is a natural occurrence. Conquer and destroy is their motto. White pride being heralded as the great light upon humanity. Makes me wanna barf. Ignorance of their own history and campaigns of murder upon my people. I see it in the settler. Their black abyss looking eyes. Soulless and empty...in dire need of light and healing. 

Most of them Fuckin abusers and nothing more. 

To combat this “fuckedupness“ we paint, we create, we teach and share, we sing, we drum and we dance. That’s how we fight this blackness and sickness of Canada. Guilty of crimes against humanity, selfish oppression of my people and our culture and yet still, I’m thriving and am fully alive. Fuck you to all who think otherwise. I have you and your flag of shit completely beat and mastered each and every day that I’m alive. Not only that but so does my kid, my son. He’s 4 years old and I teach him every single day about these beautiful ways in which we have as Anishanabe. He will learn about the truth behind what has happened to our people from every generation since it’s beginning. He is a direct descendant of all these murdered residential school children.

He embodies their light by being the seed they couldn’t kill, that they couldn’t destroy. Like me, his father. We shed this darkness by actually practicing our culture each and every day. We give reverence and actual living proof of experience by acknowledging these children who were taken way too soon by a corrupt and murderous nation in Canada. I can laugh at the devil right in front of his ugly clown face.

And I don’t pity you at all. Your an embarrassment. It’s really the same shit being done by Russians towards the people of Ukraine. It’s just disguised a little differently. We First Nations are world leaders in unravelling the colonizer’s lies. That’s why they hate us so much. Because from every generation since then, we remind them of their crimes, of their hate, of their lies and deceptions, of just how corrupt their society truly is when being built as it has on the truth of what they did and continue to do. Which of course is murder, crimes against humanity, stealing our land and resources and continual and perpetual oppression of us to have your white settler/Canadian immigrant way of life. 

We are still in the discovery of the truth phase when it comes to this idea of truth and reconciliation....

The problem with “pop culture” being represented in the native art forms

Good evening to each and everyone and thank you for always being loyal and supportive over here @ Jacobson native art. I feel like it’s certainly time to address this new wave of pop culture shit and ideas and this influence that is happening in small pockets of our woodland school and First Nations art in general. This small and weak movement is quite troubling and I’ll go into my exact reasons as to why.

First of all it’s a distorted message and one that does not fulfill the authenticity of our culture and art. The levels of plagiarism, theft of concepts, copyright violations, stealing ideas, ripping off artists and bastardizing the art forms with this mixing and mashing of concepts sends a message of a colonial mind set. At the base of these is a warping of our traditional culture, stories and art. It is essentially mis-information. It is a false spirit being Introduced into the mainstream of a colonized mind set of yet another generation. 

I look at this stuff popping up on social media and think to myself? Holy fuckin shit...is this ever ugly. Not only that but it’s a fake spirit, a false narrative. The problem is on both sides of this coin really, both their audience and the art itself. It’s understandable that this society has been bamboozled. Colonization is the culprit and really is the brainchild of this brain fart of pop culture shit being indoctrinated into our art, into our culture then on to the mainstream. At the base of that is no culture, no true identity. A generation of lost children still being hypnotized by the television and the Internet. 

Runway Model and reference: How spirit world sees this shit

Of course the institutions of colonialism absolutely love this shit. They are certainly behind the driving force of supporting anything and everything that tries to blend the two together, thus muddying the waters between the clarity and authenticity of our culture, of who we are as Anishanabe. Take for example this poor rendition of throwing the Simpson's into the mix and adding woodland art and sacred motifs of our Thunderbird teachings into this. It’s gross, it insults my indian name and my ties to Thunderbird medicine. It is disrespectful to the animal clan teachings. The ceremonies that are performed around the art and spirit of what it means to be Anishanabe. When I go out into the Bush, the mountains and rivers I don’t see any of this out there. 

Mother Nature in her wisdom and power doesn’t confuse me with this regurgitated garbage. I see real animals out there, I connect with the real forces of creation. There are sacred teachings that come with our animal clans and their roles in Anishanabe life. You learn that by getting involved in the ceremonies, the teachings and finding those who can connect you to this wealth of power and true spiritual force. Not the television, not Facebook, not instagram, not tik tok and not the Internet. That is not our way. Those are not our teachings. That is what a colonial mind set does. That is what colonial sickness spreads. A watered down and misinformed version of who we are as Anishanabe. 

It’s a backwards energy and misinformed spirit. It’s just another form of artistic prostitution. And that’s the sad part. That these kids are being lied to through social media platforms and the whole desire to express, connect and become the next sensation because your attention starved and in need of being loved on Instagram, tiktok and whatever else that gives a false sense of identity. 

I will leave you with this last thought on this and explain as to why it’s a false spirit and narrative. Here we have Betty White being adorned in our woodland art form. A funny and cute old white lady who was a pop culture icon to some. Ok, give her some shine and create a conversation I suppose with this design. I know the artist who made this didn't do his research. And this is why you have to be careful. Watch this video of Betty white and Sandra Bullock culturally appropriate our cultural integrity. Watch them make fun of who we are as First Nations. It’s disgusting, artists like Blake and the rest of these plagiarizing prostitutes need to stop. You are hurting our culture and teachings with this shit...stop spreading this false narrative and fake spirit. Enough is enough. All my relations, MAJ

Exposing the hidden truth between the freedom convoy and that pimp of a Prime minister

 Good afternoon to each and everyone today. It’s been a wild ride watching this “Freedom convoy” and this cause and effect process that is unfolding. From an indigenous lense it gives me a perspective that I’m very familiar with as a First Nations soul. I hear the term “occupier” and I think to myself, hmmmmm, I know exactly what that looks like. They were being first identified as peaceful protestors, ordinary Canadians seeking to stand up for their “rights and freedoms” within the framework of the Canadian constitution. 

Right.

Three weeks later and now Canadian citizens who are involved with this trucker convoy are now being labeled “terrorists”. By your own elected officials and government. The clowns in whom you, Canada, have voted on to run this continued occupation on our lands, on our backs as First Nations. The fuckin irony is absolutely mind bending. Now this douche bag of a prime minister has put in to place, the war measures act, the Canadian emergency act against its own citizens in whom you as a voter, put into power. Absolutely fuckin crazy if you ask me. Your whole system is geared to fuck you in the end. That’s Canada. A colonized state built on oppression, murder, land theft, resource theft, force and control. 

It’s perverse how the “rule of law” operates on our land as Anishanabe. To witness how Canada not only portrays First Nations and our rights and freedoms, but now Canadians are getting an inside point of view on how their elected leaders operate once in power. You are now seeing it for yourselves Canada. It reminds me of what a scam this whole empire of darkness truly is. I’ve known it for quite some time now in the discovery of my own process of decolonization. It’s the same shit being regurgitated to you Canadians. Only on a softer level but the reality is welcome to getting fucked by your so-called country. Oh Canada, your homes on stolen land....false patriot love....yada yada yada. 

This scam of a leader you have elected in your bullshitter prime minister shows what a coward nation you have adopted in regards to the laws and policies that have been put into place. All created by the colonizer.  The ruling power as that old fuck nut in Justin’s daddy in Pierre was known to say. Fuck him and his pathetic legacy as well. A long line of douche bags, liars, land and resource thieves. Building your white colonizer dreams on the backs of our murdered residential school children.

Fuck you Canada. And fuck you to the entire establishment. Fuck this bastard government and fuck all your institutions. It’s the people who have the power. But most Canadians have forgotten that. I mean, most Canadians don’t even know what the fuck actually took place here in how this whole thing was acquired. Murdering little innocent children. Raping our women and murdering them. Doing everything in its power as a nation to destroy us First Nations. Dont be fooled by your Canadian media trying to paint some fucked up picture of truth and reconciliation. They dont know how. That’s been the whole problem  because  that means completely changing up the entire plan and program. Reparations is what I’m talking about. At this stage, some 500 years later, Canada is so weak that they still can’t bring themselves as a so-called nation to right these layers and layers of wrongs. 

So now your rights and freedoms mean nothing and if you stand up for truth this country will send out their colonized goon squads after you to “enforce” this scam of a white settlers rule of law being misused and misrepresented on stolen Indian land. Now they’ll go after your instincts for feeling safe and secure, they will attack your businesses, go after your money, all of your assets and then paint you as a terrorist. And all you wanted was your rights and freedoms to be protected, to be honoured.....right. 

 Welcome to just a small little glimpse of our world. What we as First Nations have had to endure for centuries. That indeed you can now see what the term “occupier”  really means. Your government isn’t here to protect Canadians....lol. For fuck sakes eh. See it? They are instructed to enforce and control you. To use any means necessary to execute this delusion to the max. 

As a sovereign Anishanabe soul I am somewhat happy to witness this go down the way it is. By Canada electing to enact this emergencies act and to enforce and control this situation by stripping away your rights and freedoms says everything that I’ve been saying. It’s so bizarre and so perverse. The contradictions and double standards are overwhelming. The status quo huh?....right. Proud to be a Canadian are ya? Right. I mean the one good thing Ive seen in this whole mess is that some of these war veterans can see it. They are seeing what kind of tyranny is taking shape and has been with their government.
